Happy St George's Day*, happy birthday Mr Shakespeare**, and happy Second Annual International Pixel-Stained Technopeasant Day ***

- Back in February, the results of the 2007 Gaylactic Spectrum Awards for short fiction were announced, and I was thrilled to see Sleeping Bears Lie on the short list. The anthology it was in - Shifting Too - had gone out of print before the list was released, but now that the contract's signed and in the mail, I can tell you that a revised and extended edition of the story will be coming out later this year from Torquere. Hurray!

- I'm no longer editing for Torquere, which means more time to write, which is always a good thing. I may even, eventually, have time to write that post about how editing has affected my writing... Once and again, a huge thank you to the folks at Torquere, and to all the authors I worked with during my time there.

- Torquere have also signed a new contemporary story from me - it's called Stay Tape, and features young men and corsets. I'll tell you more when it gets closer to its release date, but I can tell you now that I had a blast writing it.

* Celebrated at lunch time with exceedingly good Stilton, and (separately) tea.
** Celebrated by my getting excitted about going to see a ballet version of Hamlet tomorrow.
*** Was going to be celebrated with a story here, but reality intervened over the weekend. Sorry.
