Not drowning, but waving

Just a quick entry to explain the recent radio-silence, really, and some news.

Off-line life's been eating all my time recently, and Reality has been beating me up, which doesn't make for a lot of writing time, or the best head-space for it - although I keep telling myself it's all experiences that I can harvest for stories later ....

(Also, two short story rejections in three days - I think that's a new record.)

In the mean time, however, I do have some good news:

The fantastic folks over at Torquere Press have done me the honour of letting me step in as commissioning editor for a whole brace of new (to me) lines. As well as the monthly novella-length High Ball line, which has been my baby since it started, I'm also going to be editing the Everyday Spectres, Games People Play, and Spurs and Saddles lines, plus two Arcana stories a month.

I'm pretty excited to be working with so many great authors, and I have a file full of fantastic stories I'm looking forward to helping on their way into the wider world.

I still don't have time to write that post I've been turning over for months now, about how editing helps writing and writing helps editing, though :D
