They were folded around each other on the couch watching very average tv, steady bitter rain hitting the windows, quiet and warm and intimate. It was all so new that the only reason Luke wasn't embarrassed by his grin was that Walker couldn't see it.
"You and Jenna are pretty close, huh?"
"Well duh! - she's my best friend." Luke moved his leg half-heartedly nudging Walker. "You sure you're the one who's been living here for months, or did they send in the pod people?"
"You know she gave me the 'my people' protection speech at the weekend?"
Walker sounded more amused than freaked out, but Luke still coloured a little. "Really?" he gulped.
His new partner wriggled round against him, abandoning the tv in favour of nuzzling hot breaths against Luke's neck. "Yup. It was pretty cool really."
"In what way 'cool'?"
"Idiot. Cool because a - I don’t *want* to hurt you, and b - because it means I got lucky."
Luke made some sort of inarticulate questioning noise, and Walker's hand went from stroking his side to poking it to emphasise the point.
"You think you'd have someone like Jenna in your life if you weren’t good people, Luke?"
Luke buried his face in the blond mess of hair in front of him and mumbled. Walker apparently took that for agreement and kept going.
"I'm just wondering if I should be more paranoid about how much stuff she knows about me " he teased. "You tell her all your secrets?"
"Mmmm - not all the details." Luke smiled with a slow rock of his hips.
"Did you two ever? You know?"
"Eww! - She's like, my sister!"
"Oh yeah - your really hot sister who led you by the hand through your whole coming out thing."
Luke nipped at Walker's earlobe to suggest that really, he might want to shut up.
"No way. I love her to bits, but as a friend - nothing else. Plus you think she's let me do anything that dumb?"
Something about his voice must have given him away, because Walker's lips were hot against the underside of his chin, and Walker's hands had wormed under his shirt and were threatening to tickle.
"And therein lies a tale?" Walker suggested pointedly.
Luke grumbled a little, making a performance of surrender, relishing the touches. "So I might have kissed her once. Twice. Years ago now though."
"And?"
"And it was a bad idea both times - drunken rebound comfort ideas - and both times she just kinda slipped away and tucked me into bed firmly alone. Because she's way better at figuring out what I need when everything goes to shit than I am,"
It was strange to be talking about this - drunken miserable nights in cold student halls so many years ago.
"Here's hoping she doesn't need to for a good long while." Walker spoke softly against his ear. It was like Walker could read his mind, warm arms tightening around him and a biting kiss to his jaw bone before it was turned into another tease. "And there's no way she's tucking the both of us in, you hear?"
"No? Not even if she promises us bed time stories?" Luke teased back, and the strange slipped away while Walker managed to roll them, narrow thighs gripping his waist and holding him captive while he launched a full-out tickle attack in defence of his exclusive late night story telling rights.
