Note : I actually don't know enough about Nsync/Backstreet's chronology to be sure that it does fit with Walker's, but seeing as the idea insisted on showing up, and it's actually really hard to try and find singles charts for 5 years hence, I'm going to let this go out, although it might not be 'canon' for the story as a whole. The boy's general attitude to each other's music tastes, however, really is. Set the first Christmas after Luke and Walker got together, just before their 1 year anniversary.
******
Luke was doing his level best to remember why it was a good thing that Jenna was throwing a 'homeless for Christmas' party this year when Walker bumped open the study door with his hip. The stack of CD's his boyfriend dumped on the desk didn't do a whole lot to help the mental argument.
"Here you go – cheesy Christmas music from the vaults, just for Jenna."
OK, so maybe Walker's smile and the feeling of Walker's hands trailing down the back of his neck were pretty good things, but Luke was fairly sure he could have gotten them anyway, so that still wasn't actually a positive for the party.
"Hey babes." He smiled, leaning back into the touches. "How's it going in the catering department?"
Luke scanned the cd spines while Walker grumbled good naturedly about the trials and tribulations of sharing a kitchen with Jenna and a deadline.
"Walker?" Luke interrupted after a while. "Please tell me you didn’t buy these at any point? These are school disco leftovers or something, right?"
He could *hear* Walker shrug behind him. "Nope, most of it's mine. Couple of religious ones for school plays, but mostly, my eclectic musical tastes coming to the rescue of the grand plan." Luke could hear the teasing smile too. There was a good reason why their cd collections remained in different rooms after all.
"Cliff at Christmas?"
"School – I'm not that far gone."
"Big Band Christmas?"
"Hey – me and Mum used to listen to that every year!"
"Nsync's Christmas special?"
"Present from an ex." Walker shot back, leaning over Luke's shoulder to drop a kiss on his temple.
Luke smiled and put a little extra incredulity into his voice. "You went out with a boy band fan? And you want me to play his presents to you over dinner?" He left the 'freak' unspoken.
"Yup – you can’t do half-hearted cheese at Christmas – especially with Jenna watching over us – and he wasn't a fan, it's just they were playing that cd everywhere we went, so Keiran thought it would be funny."
"Ha ha." Luke deadpanned. "You know, I'm not sure if I should kill you for owning this, Jenna for demanding pop-cheese dinner music, or me for doing this."
He opened the box with exaggerated revulsion, and holding the cd gingerly by the very edges dropped it into the drive. Walker nipped his earlobe.
"It's not that bad." And even with Walker's fingers poised to tickle Luke had to argue.
"Oh it is! – Polluting my machine…"
"Hey mister." Luke failed entirely to squirm away from the first attack and Walker hardly seemed to notice Luke's yelp, speaking smoothly "It's what Jenna wanted – and anyway how else do we get to hear a bunch of guys singing Christmas love songs to each other, huh? Huh?"
Luke kicked the chair back, grabbing at Walker's wrists to disable the attack by pulling Walker close.
"No way – you can just about get away with the gay clause as an excuse for owning George Michael when there's an R in the month, but…"
"Not me who has Faith in my cd rack." Walker pointed out, reasonable as anything, despite blatantly cheating and trying to get his hands back under his own control.
"That's totally not the point!" Luke protested. "We're talking boy bands, Walker, and anyway – 80s stuff gets a special dispensation for personal history reasons."
"Uh hu. Sure. And Keiran and my first teaching practise don't get Backsync the same consideration? I mean, Luke, baby, I worked at a girl's school. I had to have a favourite, and everything."
Not even Walker could quite keep the amusement out of his voice at that, and between the almost-giggles Walker was buzzing against Luke's skull and slim fingers that had almost entirely stopped tickling, but never stopped moving Luke couldn’t remember quite what he was meant to be arguing about.
Pulling Walker around and into his lap he managed to block whatever it was Walker was saying about choosing between JD and AJ with kisses that went from teasing to hungry, and he decided there and then that Jenna and her music would just have to wait.

*grins* Luke, focus on Walker's hands, forget the rest!

*giggles madly* Poor Luke, having to put up with this.

It made me laugh a few times, I've seen this He opened the box with exaggerated revulsion, and holding the cd gingerly by the very edges dropped it into the drive. so many times in my house.
I have to admit that the Nsync Christmas CD is cheesy, but it's good cheese ;)
Loved this one!
